My rabbit adventure began several years ago with a soft hearted child of mine rescueing 4 mixed breed rabbits that were all in the same 2x2 cage. We studied up on rabbits and built a couple hutches. When the rabbits arrived we did what all newbies do, we assumed that the people knew how to tell boy from girl. That was our first mistake. We put the 2 "boys" in one hutch and the 2 "girls" in the other. We lived blissfully ignorant with our new pets for a few months. Then it happened........... the dreaded scraem from the back yard.........."MOM!!!!!!!!" I go running to see who is dieing to find my daughter looking at 8 little ugly pink squirming things in our "girl" cage. After a very quick birds and bees talk we left the new family alone while we put another cage together, our second mistake. By the afternoon we had a new hutch built and had the dad seperated. So now we get to enjoy our new babies. We have officially owned rabbits for about 1 month and tripled our original herd. So while the babies are growing we are figuring out where to put everyone. Everything is going great and all of a sudden about hmmmmm......... 30-32 days later ;-) My daughter comes in to tell me that her bunny had 10 more babies! Are you kidding me?!?! We went from 4 to 22 rabbits in 2 months. And that was our start in rabbits. Thinking back on it I am surprised we still have rabbits lol. However after many years and loads of trials I wouldn't trade any of it. Well maybe............
